We are running through all 32 teams, three fantasy players at a time, two new teams every weekday until all 32 are done. Today it is Seattle and Anaheim, and the six players below run from 52nd on our board to 146th.
They split cleanly by age. Anaheim's three are 22, 21 and 29, and two of them just posted the best seasons of their careers. Seattle's are 30, 30 and 32, established rather than rising. Anaheim's third-best fantasy asset ranks ahead of Seattle's first, and Anaheim's best does not have a contract.
Fantasy points below are Yahoo-style scoring from our 2026-27 projections. The band after each is that player's floor and ceiling, not a guarantee.
Joey Daccord, Seattle
Daccord is the highest-scoring fantasy asset on this roster, and it comes from workload rather than form. He went 20-20-6 last season with a .897 save percentage and gave up 9.47 goals more than expected, and our projection has him at minus 9.1 again. Those are not the numbers of a save-percentage play. What he does bring is 26 projected wins and the volume of a starter's job, which is worth a lot in a league that counts wins and very little in one that counts rate stats.
Jared McCann, Seattle
McCann has gone 70, 62, 61 and 40 points over the last four seasons, and the 40 came in 52 games. Our projection puts him back at 62, which asks only that he plays a full year, not that he finds something new. His band runs 512 to 602, 90 fantasy points wide and tighter than nine of every ten skaters on our board, and 200 shots with 76 hits give him a floor in most formats. He is the safest thing Seattle has, and he is 30.
Brandon Montour, Seattle
Montour's rate is the steadiest in this article. His last three seasons pace to 42, 43 and 42 points per 84 games, which is about as flat as a scoring line gets. His availability is the opposite: the raw totals moved, 33 then 41 then 32, because his games played did, 66 then 81 then 64. Those are two different things and only one of them is settled, so his band runs 469 to 590. What you are drafting is 235 shots, 106 blocks and 94 hits from a defenceman at a rate you can count on, across a number of games you cannot.
Cutter Gauthier, Anaheim
The best fantasy player in this article does not have a contract. Gauthier scored 41 goals last season, up from 20 the year before, and our projection has him at 40 again on 253 shots, the most of anyone here. He is 22. Anaheim has $9.07M of cap room and an unsigned 41-goal scorer to spend it on, so the 52nd-ranked player on our board could open the season somewhere else. Draft him for the goals, but treat the team beside his name as provisional.
Leo Carlsson, Anaheim
Carlsson has gone 29, 45 and 67 points in three seasons and our projection adds another 13 to reach 80. He is 21. Philadelphia offer sheeted him and Anaheim matched at $18M a year, which tells you what the team believes it has. His band runs 542 to 778, a 236-point spread, and that width is the whole point: nobody knows yet whether he is an 80-point centre or a 100-point one, and this is the last draft where you get to find out cheaply.
Troy Terry, Anaheim
Terry is the one Anaheim forward who has already settled. He has finished between 54 and 61 points in each of the last four seasons, and our projection has him at 73. That is a 16-point jump, and the case for it is that his 57 points came in 61 games, a pace closer to 78 over a full year. He is 29 and signed at $7M through 2030, which makes him the veteran on a team whose two best players are 22 and 21.
What we would actually do
Gauthier is the pick, with the contract caveat attached. Carlsson is the pick if you would rather buy the ceiling than the goals. After that it depends what your roster lacks: Terry at a projected 73 points is the steadiest scoring available this far down a board, McCann is the same idea a round later, and Montour fills categories without moving in either direction. Daccord is for leagues that count wins, because the save percentage will not be helping you.
